According to the results, the student’s instructional level is IRI Level Two (second grade). Student A read passage 1 from IRI Level Two with 3 errors and passage 2 with 3 errors and 1 repeating error. Thus, student’s independent level of reading is correlated with IRI Level One (first grade). Student A read passage 1 from IRI Level One with 1 error and passage 2 with 2 errors, hesitating once.

Thus, the last perfect performance was demonstrated at Level Two that is why IRI was started with Level One. However, the student experienced significant difficulties while reading Word List Level Three, reaching the frustration level with 6 errors (1/2 of all the words). Student A coped with reading common sight words and Word List Level Two successfully, making only 2 and 3 errors while reading each list.
